CHICAGO—Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Michael Stolarski, Member in its Intellectual Property and Technology & Sourcing Transactions Practices, is scheduled to speak at Insurance Telematics USA 2011, the leading insurance telematics conference which will be held in Chicago on Sept. 8-9.

As North America's leading insurance telematics event, thought leaders and innovators in the sector will congregate at Insurance Telematics USA 2011 from across the country to discuss critical issues and key topics evolving within the industry. Stolarski will speak on "Understanding IP Issues and Litigation" on Sept. 9 as ongoing IP disputes remain a major hurdle facing the continued development of the insurance telematics industry.

Specifically, Stolarski plans to address the following issues:

  • Status of the litigation involving Progressive, Allstate and Liberty Mutual.
  • Practical tips for protecting yourself against an assertion of IP infringement.
  • The importance of IP to the industry and your business, including the need to protect your company's innovations and how to utilize IP laws effectively.

Stolarski has significant experience in the licensing of intellectual property and focuses his practice on all aspects of litigating complex commercial and intellectual property matters including patent, trademark, copyright, trade dress, and trade secret matters.

He is a frequent speaker and author on intellectual property issues and has testified as an expert witness on IP licensing issues and agreements in several cases. Stolarski is a member of the Intellectual Property Owners Association and the Licensing Executives Society.
