Whether shepherding complex, multi-party transactions through a thicket of regulatory scrutiny or providing the guidance and tools needed to avoid compliance problems, Jerry Aben serves as a trusted partner for a diverse group of healthcare clients.

Since the start of his career, Jerry has stayed abreast of the constantly shifting legal and regulatory landscape in which healthcare concerns do business. He endeavors to understand his clients' challenges and the priorities of regulators whose buy-in is essential for closing deals and accomplishing business objectives.

Jerry delivers straightforward and thoughtful counsel to health systems, long-term care facilities, behavioral health providers, physician groups, and home healthcare providers.

He focuses a significant part of his practice on facilitating acquisitions and mergers in the long-term care and senior living industry, and advises clients on various regulatory issues, with a special emphasis on Certificate of Need approval, facility licensure, and participation with Medicare, Medicaid, and other governmental healthcare programs.

Jerry regularly works with clients to develop proactive HIPAA compliance strategies, investigate and respond to breaches of protected health information, and navigate audits and investigations conducted by the Office of Civil Rights and other governmental agencies.
