Jay D. Logel and Michael R. Carey will serve as featured presenters at the American Conference Institute’s 13th Annual Automotive Litigation, Regulation, and Innovation Summit, taking place March 18–19, 2025, in Chicago.
Logel will present “Electric Vehicles: Litigation and Regulatory Issues with Adapting to a Shifting Climate” on Tuesday, March 18, at 1 p.m. As consumer demand for electric vehicles (EVs) grows, automakers face evolving state and federal mandates to electrify their fleets. With potential shifts in tax credits, rebates, and regulatory frameworks under the next administration, Logel will provide key updates on legislative changes, litigation trends, and compliance challenges. The session will explore strategies for managing liability risks, adapting to new fleet requirements, and staying ahead of evolving technological and regulatory landscapes.
Later that afternoon, at 3:30 p.m., Carey will deliver “Recent Developments in Product Liability Litigation, Defense and Trial Strategies, and Avoiding Runaway Verdicts.” With rapid advancements in vehicle technology, product liability remains a key litigation risk—especially as third-party integrations, from GPS systems to EV chargers, introduce new exposure. Carey will examine the challenges of defending against product liability claims, the impact of litigation on class actions and lemon law disputes, and best practices for mitigating risks from supplier and third-party technologies.
This premier industry event will convene legal, regulatory, and compliance professionals to address emerging risks and strategies in an evolving automotive landscape.
