Alison Ashmore Elected President of Dallas Women Lawyers Association

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced that Alison Ashmore was elected President of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association (DWLA) for 2023. Ashmore has served on the DWLA Board for the last several years in a variety of roles, most recently as Treasurer (prior to serving as President-Elect).

The DWLA is a non-profit organization uniting for the mutual benefit of women attorneys and to elevate the standing of women in the legal profession.

Ashmore, who also serves on Dykema’s Executive Board, has been working with the DWLA since 2013. During this time, she has contributed to their growth from dozens to hundreds of members and meeting the DWLA’s mission to elevate the standing of women in the profession by working to expand the group’s largest annual event from a small judicial reception to an award ceremony attended by hundreds, participating in the increased visibility of the organization, and mentoring attorneys and law students. She also participates in panel discussions hosted by the organization.

In her practice, Ashmore represents clients in a wide range of disputes and industries. She counsels clients on disputes with customers, partners, shareholders, and employees in a variety of industries including, real estate, construction, insurance, energy, and technology. Known for her presence in the courtroom, she represents clients in both state and federal court, bankruptcy court, arbitrations, administrative bodies, and represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Representing clients in appellate matters, Ashmore regularly handles breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, fraudulent transfer, unfair competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, and other business claims.

Ashmore earned a J.D., cum laude, from Baylor law School and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Hardin-Simmons University.
