Amy M. Christen, a Bloomfield Hills-based member in Dykema’s Employee Benefits practice, and Kathrin E. Kudner, an Ann Arbor-based member in Dykema’s Health Care practice, have journeyed to several locations over the past few weeks, leading informational seminars hosted by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce for business owners and senior executives that explain the impact of health care reform on employers in 2014 and beyond.
The two shared their insights with business audiences arranged by the Michigan Chamber of Commerce in Grand Rapids, Novi and Lansing, Michigan. In each seminar, Christen and Kudner provided: an assessment of the market and insurance reform provisions; an update on the health insurance marketplace (which in Michigan will be a federally facilitated exchange); and, commentary on individual and employer mandates.
Over the next ten days, Christen will speak at a series of Health Care Reform Seminars—presented by Hylant, one of the nation’s largest privately held insurance brokerage firms—that focus on Michigan’s Health Care Exchanges. With thirteen insurance companies planning to sell plans on Michigan’s health insurance exchange beginning October 1, 2013, Christen and a co-presenter from Hylant will provide updates on these exchanges and answer questions from attendees.
Seminars are currently planned for Novi (September 20), Ann Arbor (September 23) and Troy (September 27). Each is accredited, 2.0 hours of Continuing Education credit. To learn more, or to register for any of these seminars, click here.
