Dykema is proud to announce that Ann Fillingham received the Carlson Prize from the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL). Fillingham was recognized at the NABL annual meeting, which was held in Chicago.

The Carlson Prize, named in honor of Rita J. and Charles P. Carlson, and conceived by Glenn E. Floyd, Norman, Oklahoma, is awarded annually to the author of the best scholarly article submitted for publication in The Bond Lawyer: The Journal of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, or on the Association’s website. The prize carries an honorarium of $500 and a tuition grant for attendees at NABL U’s The Workshop.

Fillingham co-authored The Bond Lawyer article, "Municipal Market Evolution Reflecting the Constitutional Underpinnings of the Law of Public Finance," with Sandy MacLennan, Jodie Smith, and Perry Israel, each of whom have been long-time, active member of the NABL. The article contains an extensive analysis of the legal evolution of the tax-exempt bond market. Additional research and writing contributors included Banu Colak, senior counsel at Dykema; and Davis Crocker, a law clerk at Dykema.
