Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of David Killoran as a Member in its Product Liability Defense Practice Group. Killoran will be affiliated with the firm’s Los Angeles office, but extends his reach to Northern California, providing services virtually from Silicon Valley. Prior to joining Dykema, he was a Partner at Squire Patton Boggs in San Francisco and Silicon Valley, where he maintained a robust national trial practice.
A first-class national automotive product liability trial lawyer, Killoran has over three decades of experience as trial and appellate counsel to some of the world’s foremost automotive companies. He has handled hundreds of high-exposure cases against some of the country’s top plaintiff lawyers and he has experience as national coordinating counsel for one of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers.
Beyond the automotive industry, Killoran’s practice includes a wide range of product liability cases involving a variety of alleged defects in electronic devices, mechanical systems, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals, along with matters stemming from warnings, trade secrets, supplier indemnity, class actions, and consumer fraud. He also counsels clients on product safety, risk management, and commercial law matters.
“From his deep knowledge of the automotive industry to his extensive product liability background and his prowess as a litigator, David is a perfect complement to Dykema’s nationally recognized product liability team and automotive industry group,” said Derek Whitefield, Member in Dykema’s Product Liability Defense Practice. “We are excited he has joined our team to further deepen Dykema’s first chair trial bench in California. The firm and its clients will also benefit from his extensive experience and presence in Northern California: a burgeoning ecosystem for transportation innovation.”
Outside of his legal practice, Killoran is the Founder of the ALS Action Foundation, whose mission is to conduct research and promote education and awareness concerning the resources available to people with ALS and their families.
Killoran earned a J.D. from Loyola University School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
