John Black, Tamara Bush, and Derek Whitefield will each serve as featured speakers at the American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section's (TIPS) 2023 Motor Vehicle Product Liability Litigation Conference taking place in Scottsdale, Arizona, from April 19-20.
Black's session, "Rapid Response Fire Scene Investigations For Ev Fire Cases," will touch on electric vehicle (EV) fires involving lithium ion batteries and will cover best practices for rapidly investigating EV fire cases.
Bush will present, "Understanding Airbag Non-Deployment Claims: Case Studies," which will focus on the various claims and associated investigations regarding alleged airbag non-deployments with case studies to demonstrate the approach and methodology to investigate these cases, including assessment of vehicle deformation, crash dynamics, sensor conditions, EDR data analysis, relationship to other vehicle restraints, associated recalls, and more.
Whitefield's session, "Recent Verdicts & Legal Trends," will cover what all products lawyers need to know about the developing legal issues in automotive products litigation, from recent verdicts seen in trial courts, to trials held during the pandemic, to key appellate decisions.
