Collaboration in the race to find a COVID-19 vaccine

Tania Shapiro-Barr, M.D., Minneapolis-based Senior Attorney in Dykema’s Intellectual Property Group, authored the Intellectual Property Magazine article, “Collaboration in the race to find a COVID-19 vaccine.”

In the article, Shapiro-Barr described how scientists and researchers are working together to rapidly develop a vaccine for COVID-19, including three IP sharing initiatives, Open Covid Pledge, Covid-19 Technology Access Framework, and Accelerating Covid-19 Therapeutic Interventions and Vaccines (ACTIV). She cautioned participants to strike a balance between sharing and protecting their IP interests.
