Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Danielle Rushing, San Antonio-based attorney in Dykema’s Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Creditors' Rights Practice Group, was selected by the State Bar of Texas (SBOT) as one of only 20 attorneys in Texas to be a member of the 2020-21 class of LeadershipSBOT.
Created in 2008 by then SBOT President Harper Estes, LeadershipSBOT is designed to increase diverse leadership participation within the legal community through the nomination of lawyers who possess both the desire and the potential to assume leadership roles in their communities and the State Bar of Texas.
LeadershipSBOT participants will examine what is expected of leaders and, with the advice and guidance of current leaders, discover how to best engage in public involvement to be effective in the profession and in the community. The yearlong program consists of two training sessions and concludes with the presentation of group projects during the State Bar Annual Meeting.
In her practice, Rushing focuses on bankruptcy and restructuring matters. She currently represents several multi-million dollar businesses, particularly in the oil and gas/energy, retail, fitness and transportation industries. Rushing has drafted and argued various motions in state and federal courts.
Outside of her practice, she is involved in several professional organizations. Rushing is also a member of the San Antonio Bar Foundation Fellows Program, currently serves as Vice President of the Bexar County Women’s Bar (BCWB) Association and Foundation, and is a Board Member for the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association and Foundation. She also previously served as both Secretary and as a Board Member of the BCWB and was a member of the 2019 class of its LEAD Academy.
Rushing earned a J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law and a B.S. from Louisiana State University.
