The conversation will focus on Detroit’s Black political leadership under Mayors Coleman A. Young and Dennis W. Archer, Sr. Panelists will discuss the narratives, some known and unknown, that defined the leadership of Detroit’s first Black mayors and how they impact Detroit’s economic and political landscapes today. All panelists worked in city government during the “Young and Archer years” and are also Wayne State University alumni.
