Escaping Paper and Going Digital

Laura Baucus, Bloomfield Hills-based Member and head of Dykema’s Financial Services Litigation Practice Group, and Beth Lyden, Chicago-based Senior Attorney in the firm’s Corporate Finance Practice Group, co-authored the MReport article, “Escaping Paper and Going Digital.”

The article serves as a quick overview of statutes and mortgage industry efforts to help support the implementation of eClosings. Baucus and Lyden outline steps to escape paper closings and evolve to eClosing platforms, including having legislation in place as well as the backing of the mortgage industry.
