Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Isaac Villarreal, a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group, has been appointed to serve as Managing Member of the firm’s Houston office. Villarreal assumes the role from Chris Kratovil, who held the position on an interim basis after Dykema first announced the establishment of its Houston office in February of this year.
In his practice, Villarreal represents midmarket and closely held businesses and their owners in and around Texas, often serving as outside general counsel for those entities and business owners. He has more than 13 years of experience handling business and complex commercial litigation matters. Primarily though, Villarreal is a seasoned trial lawyer having served as first-chair counsel in at least 50 trials and arbitrations where he has won a substantial majority of those cases for his clients.
Outside of his practice, he is involved in the State Bar of Texas’ Alternative Dispute Resolution and Litigation Section and is active in Houston’s Hispanic legal community.
“It’s been an absolute thrill to be a member of the group establishing Dykema’s Houston office,” said Villarreal. “The firm’s culture, strong national presence, bench strength of top-notch attorneys, and its pragmatic approach to building upon that foundation in a market where I have practiced extensively throughout my career have helped make the launch of the Houston office an early success. I look forward to running with the torch Chris Kratovil handed me as we continue to grow and cement the firm’s presence in Houston.”
Villarreal received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, as well as an M.A. and B.A. from Southwest Texas State University.
