The article highlighted some of the firm's successes from 2021, including: 

• successfully defending Kia Motors America Inc. against allegations that faulty seat belts in a Kia Forte caused a passenger's traumatic injuries following a rollover accident.
• being a major force in the fast-moving development of autonomous vehicle technology, representing just about every "pure-play autonomous vehicle provider" in the U.S. and negotiating first-of-their-kind deals and transactions between automakers, technology developers, and suppliers.

Law360 Practice Group of the Year awards honor the law firms behind the litigation wins and major deals that prevailed throughout the legal industry in the past year. This marks the second time in the past three years that the firm received this recognition, as Dykema also earned the same honor in 2019. 

Beyond its two recent Law360 Practice Group of the Year selections, Dykema's Automotive and Transportation Industry Group has received several notable pieces of recognition over the past three years. The Perry case was also recently recognized by The Daily Journal as one of California's Top Verdicts of 2021 and  Courtroom View Network (CVN) as one of the “Top 10 Most Impressive Defense Verdicts of 2021.” The Daily Journal also included another Dykema defense of Kia as Top Verdict in California for 2020, while two other cases were named Top Verdicts in 2019. In 2021, Chambers USA ranked Dykema as a Top-5 Firm nationally for Product Liability: Automotive, while The Legal 500 ranked the firm in the Top-4 Firm nationally for Product Liability, Mass Tort and Class Action – Defense: Automotive/Transport, and Top-5 nationally in Transport: Rail and Road – Litigation and Regulation.
