In the article, Word highlights that the newly released guidelines from the USPTO should sound alarm bells for practitioners and heighten the obligation to ask applicants if AI is involved, and if so, how. He also noted that in-house counsel might want to consider putting procedures in place to make sure inventors are disclosing whether AI was used in the invention process.
