Mike Carey Certified as a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Civil Trial Law Specialist

Dykema, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that Michael R. Carey, a Member in Dykema’s Minneapolis office, was certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) as an MSBA Board Certified Civil Trial Law Specialist.

According to the MSBA, “the certified specialist designation is earned by leading attorneys who have completed a rigorous approval process, including an examination, peer review, and documented experience. Certified attorneys have demonstrated superior knowledge, skill, and integrity and can use the designation to advertise their credentials. Certification is earned by fewer than 3% of all licensed Minnesota attorneys.”

The MSBA has been accredited by the State Board of Legal Certification as an independent professional organization for certifying attorneys as Criminal Law Specialists, Real Property Law Specialists, Civil Trial Law Specialists, and Labor and Employment Law Specialists.

In his practice, Carey, who Co-Leads Dykema’s Electric and Autonomous Vehicles (E/AV) and Advanced Mobility team, counsels mobility industry clients on proactive risk mitigation strategies for emerging automated driving technologies. Outside of litigation, he counsels clients on craft liability, indemnity, warning, and other language in agreements or transactional matters.

Carey earned a J.D., cum laude, from the William Mitchell College of Law and a B.A. from St. John’s University.
