Statutory Transcription Rates Do Not Apply to Private Court Reporters

Los Angeles-based attorneys in Dykema’s Business Litigation Group, Jeffrey G. Huron, Phu C. Nguyen, and Jyoti P. Avila, co-authored the Los Angeles Lawyer Closing Argument column, “Statutory Transcript Rates Do Not Apply to Court Reporters.” In their essay, the authors interpret the January 2016 L.A. Superior Court opinion that private court reporters’ rates are not limited by the California Government Code nor by California Rules of Court.
