Technology and the Law: Autonomous Vehicles

The federal government has conducted multi-year, real-world studies, plans ton conduct more, and already started rulemaking for requiring "vehicle to vehicle communications" (V2V) warning systems. Some auto manufacturers have announced that autonomous vehicles and technologies will be on the market by 2020. This is breakthrough technology, transforming the transportation world we know, with the potential to reduce traffic deaths by 80 percent and perhaps even more. In this webcast, we provide an overview of the multiple legal issues involving the technologies and ongoing development and testing.
