Weil and Silverman Quoted in National Mortgage News on Trouble Ahead for Commercial Mortgages

Chicago-based attorneys Ed Weil and Mark Silverman, both co-leaders of Dykema’s Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities Special Servicer Group, were each quoted in the National Mortgage News article “Assessing the Trouble Ahead for Commercial Mortgages.”

The article discusses what lies ahead for commercial borrowers as forbearances and other government relief efforts come to an end. Weil highlights three factors lenders are considering when granting further relief. Silverman goes on to point out that forbearances aren't available for every borrower and that it's a needs-based analysis and that some borrowers may have other avenues for paying their debts. Both Weil and Silverman then go on to touch on other property types, such as hotel and retail properties .
