Ed Weil, Chicago-based Member in Dykema’s Financial Industry Group, served as a moderator at the Information Management Network’s (IMN) 10th Annual Bank Special Assets & Credit Officer’s Forum (East), which took place in Miami, Florida. February 24-25.
Weil moderated the panel “Creative Strategies in Bank Litigation,” which answered the following questions:
- What should you do to prepare for litigation, before it becomes necessary? What strategies are most effective to accurately predict how much it will cost and how long it will take?
- What are the best and worst-case scenarios for litigation? How can you evaluate your prospective litigator?
- When does it make sense to explore non-litigious alternatives, and what are the options?
- When is it better to settle?
