Business owners turn to Abad Lopez for guidance on complex and consequential labor and employment issues, knowing he will deliver the clear, actionable counsel that drives positive employer-employee relationships and the advocacy needed to resolve disruptive and costly disputes.

Assistant Practice Group Leader of the firm's labor and employment practice, Abad is a valued partner and trusted advisor for Fortune 50 companies and others who recognize his personal commitment to their success.

Immersing himself in each client's unique culture, operations, and history, Abad crafts proactive strategies designed to minimize risk and reduce the likelihood of employment claims. His close client relationships and understanding of their businesses facilitate his development of practical and tailored employment policies, protocols, and training programs they can successfully implement rather than ones that gather dust on a shelf.

Abad also knows that when his clients want answers or a game plan, they want clarity, not complexity. He provides them with what they need, spares them from what they don't, and can discern the difference.

Abad's employment practice also includes counseling on disciplinary actions and investigations, negotiating severance and executive employment agreements, and reviewing employment practices.

As data privacy claims have grown in scope and complexity, Abad has expanded his capabilities to counsel clients on compliance with BIPA disclosures and policies.

When claims arise or investigations and enforcement proceedings loom, Abad develops creative and effective defense strategies designed to obtain favorable outcomes while aligning with the client's overall business interests.

He regularly represents clients throughout the country in class action and multi-plaintiff employment discrimination and harassment lawsuits, state law overtime class actions, wrongful discharge matters, privacy claims, FLSA collective actions, and trade secret and restrictive covenant matters.

Employment claims can be very personal, for employee and employer alike. I strive to find solutions that protect my clients' interests while also hopefully sparing them from similar claims in the future.
