Drew is an entrepreneurial self-starter who is inclined towards disruptive markets where he can provide insightful and creative solutions to sophisticated and complex matters.

In an ever-evolving digital landscape, where privacy law is the wild west and data is the new currency, Drew’s corporate experience coupled with his legal expertise and a practical understanding of technology, data privacy, and cybersecurity allows him to efficiently address and counsel his clients while also understanding their overall business objectives.

As a CIPP/US/C, Drew has successfully advised numerous clients on their compliance with applicable privacy laws, such as the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Drew has a deep appreciation for the unique challenges faced by organizations safeguarding their sensitive data and he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding data protection.

As a corporate counsel, Drew has been actively involved in drafting and negotiating M&A transactions, venture capital financings, and commercial agreements including purchase agreements, assignment agreements, master services agreements, data protection addendums, and shareholder agreements. He has also advised clients on corporate restructurings, market standards in venture capital and private equity financings, regulatory best practices, and extensive due diligence on acquisition, privacy, and security matters, ensuring that his clients are well-informed and protected from potential risks.

Prior to joining Dykema, Drew was an associate at a boutique law firm in Miami, Florida assisting U.S. and LatAm founders, start-ups, and multinational corporations, with their corporate transactions from formation to exit, acquisition, or IPO/SPAC.
