For every private equity, strategic acquisition, and joint venture deal he handles, Brendan Cahill takes time to get to know each client’s organization and operations. It’s the same whether he represents an experienced sponsor or a founder- or family-owned business in a once-in-a-lifetime transaction. They all rely on Brendan to translate the law into practical business terms and provide solutions to help them reach their goals.

Brendan works with clients in the automotive, manufacturing, healthcare, and business services industries, learning how they make money and generate profits, their market positions, and their dealings with customers and suppliers.

M&A and joint ventures are his milieu, along with routine and complex contracts. Because of his deep knowledge and insight into each client, he marshals Dykema’s other subject matter experts in employment, intellectual property, data privacy and security, IP, benefits and compensation, tax, real estate, and environmental law to provide comprehensive and coordinated representation.

Middle- and lower-middle market companies, including certified minority business enterprises, rely on Brendan as a legal advisor, outside general counsel, and business partner.

He counsels clients throughout their lifecycles, from entity formation and capitalization to corporate governance to exit. Brendan also represents PE firms (including independent sponsors) and their portfolio companies and institutional investors in co-investment transactions.

For Brendan, the practice of law is an exchange of knowledge. Besides offering exceptional legal counsel to his clients, he gains insights into their worlds and shifting business landscapes.

He also keeps up with and ahead of new developments in corporate transactions, such as the now-common presence of M&A representations and warranties insurance to protect purchasers.

Every client is a collection of human beings. I want each person to succeed as much as I want to help the organization succeed.
