Clay Cossé represents clients in complex litigation in the automotive, products liability, commercial, electrical and gas utility, transportation, and catastrophic loss spheres. Clay obtains results for his clients by leveraging superior knowledge of their industries, their technologies, their processes, and the state of the art.  Clay serves as co-leader of the firm’s electric and autonomous vehicles (E/AV) and advanced mobility team. He is a frequent contributor to Westlaw Today on all subjects automotive.

Automotive, Products Liability, and Transportation

Clay represents auto manufacturers in complex products liability litigation and regulatory matters involving advanced driver assistance systems, airbags, seatbacks, post-collision fires, safety belts, rollovers, planar crashworthiness, and handling and stability. He has served on a major auto manufacturer's national counsel team for its seatback litigation.  Clay has also defended manufacturers of forklifts, manufactured housing, and consumer products in products liability and warranty litigation. 

Clay also defends manufacturing, utility, oil-and-gas, non-emergency medical transportation, general transportation, and corporate clients of all kinds in catastrophic transportation litigation and pre-suit claims and advices.

Utility, Energy, and General Commercial

Clay represents electrical and gas utility providers and energy industry clients in commercial and catastrophic loss litigation of various types, including personal injury, property damage, nuisance and trespass, contract disputes, insurance and indemnity disputes, etc.

Manufacturing and Property Owners

Clay defends manufacturers and property owners in premises-liability cases of all kinds, including allegations of OSHA violations and general workplace safety, inadequate security, excessive-force, landlord-tenant disputes, and even slip-and-falls.
