Michelle L. Mayfield
Associate
Michelle Mayfield is an associate in Dykema's Detroit office. She focuses her practice on business litigation matters.
Prior to joining Dykema, Michelle interned for the Honorable Arthur J. Tarnow of the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan. She was also a Law Clerk with Lakeshore Legal Aid, advising clients through Michigan’s Eviction Moratorium Program during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While in law school, Michelle was an Article Editor for the Journal of Business Law. She also participated in Mock Trial and was a member of the Black Law Students Association. She served as a Student Attorney with the Wayne Law Business and Community Law Clinic, where she advised small businesses and nonprofits in Southeast Michigan on entity formation and other emerging legal and business topics. As a Student Attorney, Michelle led the inaugural Business and Community Law Share, a monthly virtual gathering for entrepreneurs and community leaders to discuss business topics and network with other small business owners.
Before attending law school, Michelle spent several years on the staff of United States Senator Debbie Stabenow. In that role, she corresponded with constituents throughout the state of Michigan, guiding them through constituent service requests and other national policy concerns.
