Rodrigo Figueroa understands power. As the leader of the firm's alternative and renewable energy practice, Rodrigo plays an indispensable role in facilitating the development and operation of major utility and energy projects throughout Texas.

His industry knowledge, negotiating and relationship-building talents, and comprehensive understanding of the complicated regulatory framework in which utilities operate have made Rodrigo go-to counsel for clients with energy sector interests.

Business-minded and practical, Rodrigo relishes his role as a seasoned counselor whom energy and utility clients entrust with their most complex and consequential matters.

His clients appreciate not only his candid, practical advice, but also his ability to effectively maneuver through regulatory impediments that can stand in the way of their objectives or consummating a deal.

Knowing the difference between significant issues and those that live on the periphery, Rodrigo keeps his focus on finding solutions that accomplish his clients' goals and protect their interests.

Rodrigo brings a meticulous attention to detail and a business-minded approach to negotiating and drafting power purchase agreements, construction contracts for solar farms, contracts for the purchase of energy storage systems, leases, asset purchase agreements, and ancillary agreements.

He assists municipally owned electric utilities, electric cooperatives, and developers in drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements.

With his extensive regulatory and administrative law experience and productive working relationships with regulators and other authorities, Rodrigo advises government entities and private companies on open government laws, including the Texas Public Information Act and the Texas Open Meetings Act.

He has obtained numerous favorable Open Records Decisions from the Texas Attorney General, protecting sensitive documents of public and private companies.

Effective business counseling and enduring personal relationships with my clients go hand-in-hand. They trust me to be candid and practical and have confidence that I will find a way to help them accomplish their goals.
