Susan Benington is an experienced legal advisor and strategic counselor specializing in product counseling and data privacy matters, including incident response, consumer disclosures, and B2B data sharing.

Susan partners with leaders and business teams to drive compliance with emerging legal frameworks and provide actionable, pragmatic guidance consistent with business and data goals. Her efforts are aimed at aligning innovative technology services with stringent global data protection standards in a risk-based, solution-oriented way.

Before joining Dykema, Susan served as senior privacy counsel for two Fortune 500 companies where she led global data privacy and consumer protection legal functions in support of business teams across North America, Europe, and Australia. In her roles, Susan focused on data privacy and protection, information management, compliance, and risk management, primarily in the automotive and financial sectors.
