Susan G. Feibus

Senior Counsel

Susan Feibus has a career of winning every type of case – from criminal trials straight out of The Wire and big white collar crime cases to complex litigation and corporate restructuring. Her reputation for success in the courtroom also makes her a tough and effective negotiator. It gives her an edge in resolving her clients’ problems without litigation.

Her peers recognize Susan’s ability, too. For years she has been an instructor in trial and litigation skills for young lawyers at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. She has received prestigious court appointments as well. The federal district court in Chicago appointed Susan to monitor the Assessor and Clerk of the Circuit Court's compliance with the so-called Shakman consent decrees that forbid hiring and other employment actions in Cook County based on political patronage.

Because Susan is a clear and direct writer, and avoids legal jargon, she is popular with her clients. She can communicate in plain English. She explains the strategy at every step. That is her style of practiceto find and explain the most cost-effective way of reaching the goal, and then to execute.

From her earliest days as a trial lawyer, Susan has been an effective appellate advocate as well. The legal writing she teaches to other lawyers helps her in the highest courts, including the Illinois Supreme Court.

With such breadth of experience, Susan has acquired the practical good judgment that lawyers whose practice is more limited are unable to match.

Susan is a no-nonsense lawyer who enjoys her work, and the publicly-traded companies, mid-market businesses, and high-net-worth individuals that she represents enjoy working with her too.

The duty of a lawyer is diligence.
