Travis Plummer thinks a lot about how litigation impacts clients. More than just the line-item expense and potential exposure, he knows a lawsuit can threaten a company’s goodwill and operations.

Travis is intentional in his efforts to successfully represent clients in court, which is often the most effective place a client can defend their reputation, but he also works to make litigation less of a distraction and disruption for the client.

Based in Dykema’s Austin and San Antonio offices, Travis counsels clients across a wide range of commercial disagreements. He represents contractors, architects, and property owners in construction defect, professional responsibility, and land use disputes.

In the healthcare space, Travis represents providers and physicians with licensure, service delivery, and regulatory compliance issues. His insurance practice focuses on the defense of first-party property damage claims and interpleader actions.

Travis advises various companies and individuals in contract, business tort, and intellectual property matters.

Throughout his legal career, he has obtained favorable outcomes in contract disputes, construction cases, shareholder and corporate governance issues, deceptive trade practices and unfair competition claims, breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, theft of trade sections, and defamation.

Many of Travis’s clients find themselves in court for the first time, and he enjoys the opportunity to resolve their disputes to escape bad situations.

Dykema litigators are bona fide trial lawyers, and Travis has purposely accumulated substantial bench and jury trial experience.

As a result, he knows how to navigate the challenges of a constantly changing jury pool and understands how handling a case from pleadings and discovery to verdict has also sharpened his negotiation, mediation, and arbitration skills.

Clients usually see litigation as a war when they really should look at it as a battle. It may be a big issue in their business, but it’s only one thing going on in the business.
